Construction work progresses on Chahar Mahal Bakhtiyari steel plant

Construction of Iran's Chahar Mahal Bakhtiyari steel plant has progressed since Iranian government injected money in projects for the construction of eight mini-mills in Iranian provinces in February this year. Construction of the iron-making plant, steelmaking plant, support and auxiliary units of Chahar Mahal Bakhtiyari project progressed by 56 percent ,17 percent and 28 percent respectively up to the end of April 2010, according to IMIDRO.

About Rials 850 billion (about $85 million) was spent on the project up to the end of April while an investment of €126 million plus Rials 2,000 billion (about $200 million) has been estimated for the whole project.

Chahar Mahal Bakhtiyari steel plant has an annual capacity of 800,000 mt of slab and is located near Brujen city in the province of Chahar Mahal Bakhtiyari in central Iran.
