Coal shipments by China’s railways down 11.2 percent in April

China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that in April this year coal shipments by Chinese railways amounted to 159 million mt, down 11.2 percent year on year, while in the January-April period shipments totaled 697 million mt, down 9.6 percent year on year.
 
In the January-April period this year, the railway line from Datong, Shanxi Province to Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province transported 137 million mt of coal, down six percent, while the railway line from Houma, Shanxi to Yueshan, Henan transported 56.04 million mt of coal, down 8.1 percent, both year on year.
