Coal output of China’s Shanxi Province down 0.6 percent in May

In May this year, raw coal output in China’s main coal production hub, Shanxi Province, amounted to 85.334 million mt, down 0.6 percent on year-on-year basis, while decreasing by 0.62 million mt compared to April this year, down 0.72 percent month on month, as announced by Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics.

In the January-May period this year, raw coal output in Shanxi Province totaled 394.788 million mt, up 1.6 percent year on year, 0.6 percentage points slower than the growth recorded in the first four months of the year.
