Coal India Limited’s coking coal output up 17 percent in FY 2022-23

Indian government-run Coal India Limited (CIL) achieved coking coal production of 54.6 million mt in the fiscal year 2022-23, up 17.2 percent year on year, a company statement said on Monday, April 17.

CIL said that the increase in production is significant and in line with the government directive to achieve coking coal production of 105 million mt by 2030 and reduce import dependency.

It said that its two wholly-owned operational subsidiaries Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and Central Coalfields Limite (CCL) achieved coking coal production of 33.7 million mt and 20.6 million mt, respectively, during the fiscal year 2022-23.
