US-based miner Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. has announced that it has completed the sale of its Logan County Coal assets in West Virginia to Coronado Coal II LLC, an affiliate of Coronado Coal LLC, for $174 million in cash.
Separately, Cliffs has confirmed that active production at its Bloom Lake iron ore operations has completely ceased and its exit from eastern Canada has continued to be executed on schedule as previously announced. The last shipment of iron ore out of Port of Sept-Iles will be completed in early January 2015.
