CISA: China’s crude steel output increases in early December

On December 20, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stated that in early December (December 1-10) the 77 large and medium-size steelmakers in China which are members of the CISA produced 14.05 million mt of crude steel. Meanwhile, the CISA estimated that the country overall produced 16.669 million mt of crude steel in the given period, with national average daily crude steel output at 1.667 million mt, up 1.5 percent over the daily average for late November (November 21-30).

Luo Bingsheng, deputy chairman of CISA, had estimated in late November that China would produce 624 million mt of crude steel in the whole of 2010, up 8.2 percent year on year.
