Chinese crude steel output reaches 61.23 million mt in May

China's National Bureau of Statistics has indicated that the total output of crude steel in China in May this year reached 61.23 million mt, up 2.5 percent or 1,490,000 mt year on year. Total Chinese crude steel output in the first five months amounted to 296.26 million mt, up 2.2 percent year on year.
 
In May, China achieved a pig iron output of 57,34 million mt, up 5.2 percent, while in the first five months total pig iron output was 277.77 million mt, up 2.2 percent, both year on year.
 
In the given month, China's finished steel product output came to 81.67 million mt, up 6.3 percent, while the total for January-May reached 384.01 million mt, also up 6.3 percent, both year on year.
