Shanxi Zhongyang Steel to commission upgraded facilities in October

Shanxi Province-based Chinese steel producer Shanxi Zhongyang Iron and Steel Co. has announced that its upgrading project at its facilities has entered the equipment installation phase, with official production expected to commence in October.
 
Zhongyang Steel stated that upon commissioning of the upgraded facilities it will have an annual output of 5 million mt of raw coal, 1.2 million mt of iron ore concentrate, 1.5 million mt of coke, 4 million mt of pig iron, 4 million mt of crude steel and 4 million mt of finished steel, while its annual operating revenue will reach RMB 15 billion.
 
Meanwhile, in the first half of the current year Zhongyang Steel produced 1,151,900 mt of pig iron and 1,089,400 mt of crude steel, down 3.86 percent and 2.71 percent year on year. In addition, its output of finished steel in the given period reached 1,077,100 mt, up 0.37 percent year on year.
