According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, China's annual demand for coking coal will rise by 180 million mt by 2015.

However, in the same period, domestic coking coal production in China is expected to increase by only 80 million mt. With the anticipated strong increase in demand as compared to supply, there is expected to be significant support for coking coal prices in China in the coming years.
