China’s coal and lignite imports increase by 12.7 percent in H1

In the January-June period of the current year, China imported 173.991 million mt of coal and lignite, up 12.7 percent year on year, 4.1 percentage points slower than the increase rate recorded in the first five months of the year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on July 14.

In June alone, China imported 25.286 million mt of coal and lignite, up 14.6 percent month on month.
