China’s medium plate output increases by 3.1 percent in May

In May this year, China's outputs of medium plate, heavy plate and ultra-heavy plate amounted to 4.056 million mt, 2.209 million mt and 657,000 mt, increasing by 3.1 percent, 1.7 percent and 11.9 percent year on year, respectively, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the January-May period of the year, China's outputs of medium plate, heavy plate and ultra-heavy plate totaled 16.971 million mt, 10.705 million mt and 3.211 million mt, decreasing by 0.7 percent, up 2.7 percent, and rising by 18.2 percent year on year, respectively.
