China’s coking coal exports up 8.9 percent in August

In August this year, China’s exports of anthracite coal and coking coal amounted to 450,000 mt and 80,000 mt, up 170.9 percent and 8.9 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In the January-August period of the current year, China’s exports of anthracite coal and coking coal totaled 1.76 million mt and 620,000 mt, increasing by 15.5 percent and rising by 12.0 percent year on year, respectively.

In August this year, China’s overall coal exports (including anthracite coal and coking coal) amounted to 530,000 mt, increasing by 17.9 percent year on year, while the overall coal export volume in the January-August period of the current year totaled 3.29 million mt, down 16.3 percent year on year.
