China’s coal output down 4.8 percent in January-August

In the January-August period of current year, China’s coal output totaled 2.41 billion mt, down 4.8 percent year on year while coal shipments by Chinese railways amounted to 1.35 billion mt, down 11.8 percent year on year, according to the latest news issued by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).  

In the January-August period of current year, China imported 140 million mt of coal, down 31.3 percent year on year.
