In January this year, China exported 10.29 million mt of finished steel, up 52.1 percent year on year, according to monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities on February 28.
In particular, in January China's export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rod and steel plate amounted to 3.64 million mt, 470,000 mt, 210,000 mt, and 4.82 million mt, up 92 percent, 3.3 percent, 12.8 percent and 57.1 percent, respectively, year on year.
Meanwhile, in January, China exported 1.07 million mt of coke, up 45.1 percent year on year, and exported 35 mt of ferrous scrap, up 91.9 percent year on year.
