In June of the current year, the official purchasing managers index (PMI) for Chinese manufacturing was 50.2 percent, down 0.2 percentage points compared to May, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP). However, a slowdown has been observed in the decrease rate of the PMI index.
Among the PMI sub-indices, in June the finished goods inventory index was 52.3 percent, up 0.1 percentage points over May, while the new orders index was 49.2 percent, down 0.6 percentage points from May. In June, the PMI for large domestic companies was 50.6 percent, down 0.5 percentage points month on month, the PMI for medium-sized companies was 50.0 percent, while the PMI for small companies was 47.2 percent.
