China’s iron ore import volume up 9.12 percent in January-July

According to the Chinese customs authorities, in July this year China recorded total iron ore imports of 57.87 million mt, down 440,000 mt or 0.75 percent month on month, but up 3.32 million mt or 6.09 percent year on year. China's average iron ore import price in July was $134.8/mt, down $4.27/mt or 3.07 percent compared to June this year and declining by $38.4/mt or 22.17 percent compared to July last year. 
 
In January-July, China's iron ore import volume amounted to 423.75 million mt, up 35.42 million mt or 9.12 percent year on year, with an average import price of $138.5/mt for the period, down $24.9/mt or 14.93 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
