China’s iron ore imports via Manzhouli rise 37.6 percent in Jan-Apr

According to the customs authorities at Manzhouli in China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, in the January-April period of the current year the imports of iron ore fines and iron ore concentrates into China via Manzhouli totaled 1.564 million mt, up 37.6 percent year on year, and worth $210 million, up 6.8 percent year on year. Manzhouli is China's busiest land port of entry.

Average prices of iron ore imported via Manzhouli in April increased by 4.5 percent month on month to $141.2/mt, while nearly all the mentioned iron ore import volume in January-April originated in Russia. In the first four months, Russia exported 1.555 million mt of iron fines and iron ore concentrates to China via Manzhouli, up 36.7 percent year on year, accounting for 99.4 percent of the entire iron ore import volume via Manzhouli in the given period.
