China’s heavy truck sales down 33 percent in first five months

According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, sales of heavy trucks in China in May this year totaled 54,800 units, down 34 percent as compared to 83,036 units in May last year. Regarding the sales volumes of the main Chinese heavy truck manufacturers in May, Dongfeng Motor Co.'s heavy truck sales amounted to 12,330 units, Sinotruk sold 8,100 units, while FAW Group sold 7,800 units, down 25 percent, 26.4 percent and 38.5 percent year on year, respectively.
 
In the first five months of the current year, total sales of heavy trucks in China amounted to 320,600 units, down 33.1 percent year on year. Dongfeng Motor ranked first with sales of 69,500 units, followed by Sinotruk with 55,400 units and FAW Group with 55,200 units, down 30.4 percent, 27.4 percent and 34.9 percent year on year.
