China’s crude steel output up 0.4 percent in January-September

In September this year, China produced 59.32 million mt of pig iron, 68.17 million mt of crude steel and 98.09 million mt of finished steel, indicating respective increases of 4.1 percent, 3.9 percent and 4.3 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on October 19.

In the January-September period of the current year, China produced 528.25 million mt of pig iron, 603.78 million mt of crude steel and 851.78 million mt of finished steel, down 0.3 percent, up 0.4 percent and increasing by 2.3 year on year, respectively.
