China’s Baotou Steel hits new production highs in Q1
In the first three months of 2009 Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Steel produced 2.4607 million mt of pig iron, 2.5544 million mt of crude steel, and 2.4865 million mt of finished and semi-finished steel, up 7.11 percent, 9.03 percent and 11.71 percent respectively year on year. All figures represent new historical quarterly highs for the producer.
