China's average daily crude steel output down slightly in late Oct

On November 8, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in late October (Oct. 21-31) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.7033 million mt, down 0.5 percent compared to mid-October (Oct. 11-20). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China in late October was estimated at 2.0984 million mt, indicating a decrease of 0.4 percent compared with mid-October.

According to the CISA's previous figures, in mid-October this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China had amounted to 1.7117 million mt, down 2.97 percent compared to early October (October 1-10). In mid-October, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China was estimated at 2.1068 million mt, indicating a decrease of one percent compared with early October.

Meanwhile, as of October 31 this year, inventory of the main finished steel products in the major steel markets in China totaled 12.876 million mt, down 912,000 mt or 6.6 percent as compared to the figure recorded on October 20.
