China-based steel company China Oriental Group Co. has issued figures for its sales of steel products in the third quarter of the current year. Accordingly, in the third quarter the company's total steel product sales reached a value of RMB 9.341 billion ($1.476 billion), an increase of RMB 1.523 billion ($0.241 billion) or 19.5 percent from RMB 7.818 billion for the same period of 2010. Meanwhile, the steel product sales volume for the period in question totaled 2.24 million mt, down 1.1 percent year on year.
China Oriental Group's H-section steel sales in the third quarter this year totaled RMB 3.429 billion ($0.542 billion) in value, an increase of 32.8 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the sales volume of H-section steel in the given period totaled 814,000 mt, increasing 8.4 percent year on year.
The company's sales of flat rolled coils or strips in the third quarter this year reached a value of RMB 3.648 billion ($0.576 billion), up 24.6 percent year on year. The sales volume in question was 902,000 mt, up 5.9 percent year on year.
In addition, in the given quarter China Oriental Group's sales volume of billet fell 65.4 percent year on year, while its sales volume of cold rolled sheets and galvanized sheets was up nine percent on year-on-year basis.
