In the January-June period this year, China attracted 59 percent of new shipbuilding orders (10.43 million CGT) in the global market, while South Korea held a 29 percent share (5.16 million CGT), according to the data issued by Clarksons, the world’s leading provider of integrated shipping services.
In June, 2.76 million CGT of new shipbuilding order were transacted in the global market, down 49 percent year on year. In particular, 2.2 million CGT and 0.38 million CGT of new shipbuilding orders during the month were respectively claimed by Chinese and South Korean shipbuilding enterprises.
