Canadian new vehicle sales up 8.5 percent in February 2026 from January

According to Statistics Canada, new motor vehicle sales in February 2026 totaled 124,004 units, reflecting an increase of 8.5 percent month-on-month and a decrease of 0.8 percent year-on-year. By value, Canadian vehicle sales in February totaled $7.10 billion, compared to $6.50 billion in January and $7.10 billion in February 2025.

Canadian sales of vehicles manufactured in North America totaled 81,313 units in February at a value of $4.94 billion, while sales of vehicles manufactured overseas totaled 42,691 units at a value of $2.17 billion.
