Canadian new vehicle sales up 42.3 percent in March

According to Statistics Canada, new motor vehicle sales in March 2026 totaled 176,500 units, reflecting an increase of 42.3 percent month-on-month and a decrease of 6.6 percent year-on-year. By value, Canadian vehicle sales in March totaled $10.19 million, compared to $7.11 million in February and $10.57 million in March 2025.

Canadian sales of vehicles manufactured in North America totaled 115,750 units in March at a value of $6.96 million, while sales of vehicles manufactured overseas totaled 60,750 units at a value of $3.22 million.
