Canadian coking coal production up 14.2 percent in December

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 226,211 mt in December 2018, up 14.2 percent from the 198,149 mt produced in November. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 9.9 percent from the 205,717 mt reported in December 2017.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in December reached 269,676 mt, which represents a 1.9 percent increase from the 264,591 mt of supply in November, and a 11.7 percent increase from the 241,365 mt of supply in December 2017.
