According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 184,114 mt in July 2017, up 7.2 percent from the 171,746 mt produced in June. On a year-on-year analysis, production reflected a 4.9 percent decrease from the 193,740 mt produced in July 2016.
The supply of coking coal in Canada in July reached 240,246 mt, which represents a 1.4 percent decrease from the 243,598 mt of supply in June and a 5.2 percent decrease from the 253,366 mt of supply in July 2016.
