Canadian coking coal production up 10.1 percent in June

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 243,245 mt in June 2018, up 10.1 percent from the 220,965 mt produced in May. On a year-on-year analysis, coking coal production was up 41.6 percent from the 171,746 mt reported in June 2017.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in June reached 247,565 mt, which represents a 12.5 percent decrease from the 282,985 mt of supply in May, but a 1.6 percent increase from the 243,599 mt of supply in June 2017.
