Canadian coking coal production rises 1.4 percent year-on-year in April

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 176,094 mt in April 2017, up 1.4 percent from the 173,664 mt produced in April 2016. On a month-on-month analysis, production reflected a 2.7 percent decrease.
 
The supply of coking coal in Canada in April reached 248,412 mt, which represents a 4.4 percent decrease from supply levels in March but a 4.7 percent increase from supply levels in April 2016.
