Camrose Pipe deal agreement with CAWU
The US producer of specialty and commodity steel mill products for domestic and international markets, the minimill Oregon Steel Mills, Inc. announced that its facility Camrose
Pipe Company which is located in
Canada and Canadian Auto Workers Union (CAWU) have reached a new 3 year collective bargaining agreement. The new agreement has been approved by 84% vote of the union.
The agreement is retroactive to February 1, 2003 and will be valid until January 31, 2006.
The agreement includes wage increases in each of three years as well as improvements in pensions and benefits.
Oregon Steel Mills, Inc. is organized into two divisions. One of them is the Oregon Steel Division which produces steel
plate, coil and welded
pipe from plants located in Portland, Oregon, Napa, California and Camrose, Alberta,
Canada. And the other one is the Rocky Mountain Steel Mills Division which is located in Pueblo, Colorado and produces steel rail, rod, bar and
tubular products.
