Xu Haidong, deputy chief engineer of CAAM, stated, “China’s vehicle sales growth and sales volume will exceed the expected target of three percent and 27.6 million units set at the beginning of this year, while vehicle sales will likely be higher than the highest level of 28.879 million units recorded in 2017, likely reaching 29 million units. Moreover, the vehicle export volume may amount to 4.5 million units, which will drive the vehicle market to another peak this year.”

At the same time, “the sales target for NEVs was set as 9 million units at the beginning of the current year, signaling the monthly NEVs sales need to exceed 900,000 units in the remaining three months, which could be achieved,” according to Chen Shihua, vice-secretary general of CAAM.
