According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the number of buildings authorized by building permits from municipalities in Turkey in the January-September period of the current year amounted to 125,846, up 32 percent from 95,333 registered during the same period of the previous year. In the first nine months of 2015, the number of buildings authorized by municipality building permits totaled 89,741.
In the first three quarters of this year, the value of the buildings in question fell by 3.6 percent year on year to TRY 237.89 billion ($60.89 billion), while the total number of apartments authorized by building permits recorded an increase of 57 percent to 1,106,389, both year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year the number of buildings given occupancy permits by municipalities in Turkey increased by seven percent to 82,068 buildings, compared to the first nine months of 2016.
