According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the number of buildings authorized by building permits from municipalities in Turkey in the January-September period of the current year amounted to 94,015, up 4.9 percent from 89,577 registered during the same period of the previous year. In the first nine months of 2014, the number of buildings authorized by municipality building permits totaled 110,984.
In the January-September period this year, the value of the buildings in question rose by 11.7 percent year on year to TRY 127.81 billion ($36.9 billion), while the total number of apartments authorized by building permits recorded an increase of 8.1 percent to 692,136, both year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months the number of buildings given occupancy permits by municipalities in Turkey decreased by 2.8 percent to 76,185 buildings, compared to the first nine months of 2015.
