Brazil's motor vehicle output up 25.2 percent in 2017

Brazil's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) in December last year decreased by 14.2 percent from the previous month and rose by 6.9 percent year on year to 213,700 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in 2017, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) grew by 25.2 percent year on year to 2,699,670 units.

New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 212,600 units in December last year, up 4.1 percent both compared to November and year on year. In 2017, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) increased by 9.2 percent year on year to 2,239,680 units. 

Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in December last year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 61,140 units, decreasing by 16.3 percent compared to the previous month and down 2.6 percent year on year. In 2017, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 762,033 units, up 46.5 percent year on year.
