Brazil's motor vehicle output down 4.1 percent in July from June

Brazil's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) in July this year decreased by 4.1 percent from the previous month and rose by 9.3 percent year on year to 245,800 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in the January-July period of 2018, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) grew by 13 percent year on year to 1,680,330 units.

New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 217,500 units in July this year, increasing 7.7 percent when compared to June and up 17.7 percent year on year. In the January-July period, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) increased by 14.9 percent year on year to 1,384,260 units.

Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in July (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 51,358 units, decreasing by 20.9 percent compared to the previous month and down 21.7 percent year on year. In the first seven months of the current year, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 430,359 units, down 2.8 percent year on year.
