Brazil's motor vehicle output in October this year decreased by 2.5 percent from the previous month and increased by 0.5 percent year on year to 323,776 units (excluding agricultural vehicles), according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). In addition, in the first 10 months this year, Brazil's motor vehicle output increased 12.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 3.16 million units.
According to the report, total new motor vehicle registrations in Brazil amounted to 330,203 units in October this year, decreasing 3.3 percent year on year and increasing by 6.6 percent compared to previous month. 18.8 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in October this year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 51,808 units rising by 13.9 percent compared to the previous month and up 22.9 percent year on year. In the first 10 months of the year, the country's motor vehicle exports increased 30.6 percent to 479,984 units, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, in October the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports rose by 18.6 percent year on year to $1.3 billion, increasing by 12.9 percent month on month. In January-October, Brazilian motor vehicle exports totaled $14 billion in value, rising by 13.9 percent compared to the first 10 months of the previous year.
