Brazilian iron ore exports up in September

Brazilian iron ore exports in September rose 7.6 percent, year-on-year, to 35.6 million mt, according to figures released this week by the country's ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, MDIC.

MDIC’s data showed the nation’s exports of the commodity in September surged 31.2 percent in the month-on-month analysis.

Exports revenue for the commodity in September reached $1.26 billion, down from $2.22 billion a year ago, but 30.3 percent up, month-on-month.

The commodity’s price remained stable in September at $35.5/mt, from $35.8/mt in August, but well below September’s 2014 average price of $67.3/mt.
