Brazil readies agenda to boost mining sector

The Brazilian ministry of mines and energy (MME) is eyeing an agenda to boost the energy and mining sectors. The ministry is approaching the mining sector’s representatives, including CEOs of key companies, to propose the government’s agenda for the segment, the ministry said.

Minister Bento Albuquerque held meetings this week to propose short, mid and long-term actions for the ministry. MME aims to show its 100-day plan for the sector, including on-going proposals to boost the sector.

MME said some topics would be “deepened” in coming months. The ministry also it has been focusing its efforts to provide governability, regulatory and legal stability, as well as predictability to the sector.
