Borusan Mannesmann Pipe US appoints new CEO

Turkish pipemaker Borusan Mannesmann's US-based subsidiary Borusan Mannesmann Pipe U.S., Inc. has announced that Joel Johnson has been appointed as its chief executive officer effective as of June 3.
 
Joel Johnson has 23 years of management and commercial experience in the domestic market place as well as in the international arena and has most recently been offering consulting services through his own consulting practice.
 
Mr. Johnson will succeed Buddy W. Brewer, Jr., who has served as CEO since October 2012. For over two-and-a-half years, Mr. Brewer led the company through its development and construction of the pipe manufacturing plant in Baytown, Texas, the company's first U.S. manufacturing investment.
 
Having the ability to thread semi/premium threads in house, Borusan's mill has an annual production capacity of 300,000 mt. Borusan Mannesmann Pipe US reached a turnover of $200 million in 2014 and expects to become one of five top producers in the North American ERW OCTG market in the near future.
