With the Sino-Turkmenistan natural gas project entering a critical exploration stage, PetroChina's Changqing Oilfield has chosen to use significant quantities of Baosteel's high-frequency ERW casing tube instead of imported products in the natural gas project in question.

The product supplied by Baosteel to Changqing Oilfield is high-frequency ERW casing tube of 508 mm diameter and 16.13 mm thickness - this being the first time for Baosteel to produce ERW casing tube of thickness > 16 mm. Previously, Changqing Oilfield had no choice but to rely on imported ERW products in these kinds of international projects.
