Baogang Group earns $622 million from steel exports in 2011

Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel (Baogang Group) has announced that in 2011 its finished steel exports reached 835,000 mt, up 14.38 percent year on year, while its earnings from the exports in question reached $622 million, up 34.05 percent year on year. Accordingly, Baogang Group ranks ninth among producers in the domestic steel industry in terms of earnings from steel exports in 2011.
 
In 2011, Baogang exported 103,000 mt of steel plate. In addition, in the given year it also exported 82,000 mt of full hard cold rolled steel coil, 17,000 mt of seamless pipe and 243,000 mt of galvanized steel coil, respectively up 337.63 percent, 277.83 percent and 23.34 percent year on year.
