Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up slightly in late October

In late October (October 21-30) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar and 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod were recorded at RMB 2,931.0/mt ($477.4/mt) and RMB 3,007.8/mt ($489.9/mt), up RMB 53.0/mt ($8.6/mt) and RMB 50.2/mt ($8.2/mt), indicating respective increases of 1.8 percent and 1.7 percent, compared to prices in mid-October (October 11-20), as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics on November 4.

During the given period, the average prices of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipe and 5 mm x 5 mm angles in China were recorded at RMB 3,074.1/mt ($503.9/mt), RMB 3,153.8/mt ($621.2), RMB 3,774.8/mt ($515.0) and RMB 3,148.8/mt, down RMB 20.0/mt ($3.3/mt), RMB 16.3/mt ($2.7/mt), RMB 39.6/mt ($6.4/mt) and RMB 13.4/mt ($2.2/mt), decreasing respectively by 0.6 percent, 0.5 percent, 1.0 percent and 0.4 percent, compared to prices in mid-October.
