China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (December 9-15) the overall average finished steel price in China increased by 0.1 percent week on week.
In the given week, the average prices of 80 mm x 43 mm x 5 mm channel bar, 12 mm rebar and 6.5 mm high-speed wire rod were up 0.2 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent week on week, respectively.
In the week ending December 15, the average price of minerals in China was up 0.8 percent compared to the previous week. In particular, the average prices of molybdenum ore, iron ore, zinc ore and copper ore were up one percent, 0.9 percent, 0.9 percent and 0.5 percent respectively, all week on week.
In the given week, the average price of non-ferrous metals was up 0.6 percent compared to the previous week. In particular, the average price of nickel (Ni >= 99.2 percent) was up 1.5 percent week on week.
In addition, in the week in question the average price of energy in China was up 1.2 percent week on week. The average prices of brown coal, bituminous coal and anthracite coal were up 3.4 percent, 1.9 percent and 1.6 percent respectively week on week. The average price of metallurgical coke remained stable, while the average price of crude oil was down 0.5 percent, both week on week.
