Automotive trade flow in Mexico registers $8.14 billion surplus in January

The value of the commercial flow of the automotive industry in Mexico increased 60.9 percent, year-over-year, in January to $19.07 billion, the twelfth consecutive increase. Exports grew 64.9 percent and imports grew 51.8 percent, reveals a SteelOrbis analysis of data from national statistics agency Inegi.

In January, exports from the automotive industry in Mexico totaled $13.04 billion, 64.9 percent or $5.35 billion more than in the same month of 2022. Imports totaled $5.46 billion, 51.8 percent or $1.87 billion more than in January 2022.

The balance of the automotive trade balance was favorable for Mexico with a surplus of $8.14 billion. in the last 30 years and one month, the automotive industry in Mexico has maintained a surplus.
