Western Canada-based emerging metallurgical coal explorer and producer Atrum Coal NL announced on August 2 that it has completed the 100 percent acquisition of Naskeena (North) Coal Project and Naskeena (Central) Coal Project located in British Columbia, Canada. Naskeena hosts an exploration target of 200-250 million mt in accordance with JORC guidelines.

Atrum Coal is focused on exploring metallurgical coal projects, with the company initially targeting projects in British Columbia, where there is an abundance of high quality coal, and access to rail and port infrastructure, including deep sea ports. The company already owns 100 percent of three coal projects, namely, Groundhog, Peace River and Bowron River.

Together with the company's existing projects, Naskeena could lift Atrum's total exploration target to between 590 million mt and 785 million mt of coal.
