Argentina's crude steel output up 16.8 percent in September

According to the report released by Argentina's steel chamber, in September this year the country's crude steel production was down 3.4 percent month on month and increased by 16.8 percent year on year, amounting to 462,600 metric tons. Cumulative production for the first nine months of the year was 3.81 million metric tons, 1.2 percent lower than the 3.85 million metric tons recorded in the same period last year.

In September this year, Argentina's production of hot rolled steel reached 468,400 metric tons, 3.9 percent higher than the previous month and 16.8 percent higher than September 2012. In the first nine months of the current year, Argentina's hot rolled steel production totaled 3.81 million metric ton, up 0.7 percent year on year.

In September of the current year, the country's cold rolled flat steel production increased by 2.5 percent month on month and by 34.2 percent year on year to 132,400 metric tons, while increasing by seven percent year on year to 1.13 million metric tons in the first nine months.
