Argentina's crude steel output up 12.7 percent in Q1

According to the report released by Argentina's steel chamber, in March this year the country's crude steel production was up 24 percent month on month and increased by 0.9 percent year on year, amounting to 471,800 metric tons. Production in the first quarter of the current year totaled 1.25 million metric tons, 12.7 percent higher compared with the same period of 2013.

In March this year, Argentina's production of hot rolled steel amounted to 453,000 metric tons, up 25.4 percent month on month and decreasing by 0.8 percent compared to March 2013. In the first three months of this year, the country's hot rolled steel production totaled 1.20 million metric tons, up 0.8 percent year on year.

In March of the current year, Argentina's cold rolled flat steel production increased by 6.4 percent month on month and decreased by 9.8 percent year on year to 122,500 metric tons, while output decreased by 0.6 percent year on year to 361,500 metric tons in the first quarter.
