Arcelor’s Vega do Sul plant in Brazil inaugurated

According to a statement released by Arcelor, Vega do Sul plant of the company is inaugurated on April 27, 2004. Vega do Sul is a flat carbon steel cold rolling, pickling and galvanizing plant located in Brazil. The plant, capacity of which is planned to be 880'000 tons will serve mainly automotive industry. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, the plant started production in July 2003 with an investment of $400 million by Arcelor. 25% of the plant is owned by Companhia Siderurgica de Tubarao (CST) and the 75% is owned by Arcelor.
