ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih doubles environmental investments in 2017

ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih, Ukraine-based subsidiary of the world's largest integrated metals and mining company ArcelorMittal, has announced that in 2017 its investments in environmental projects increased almost twofold compared to the previous year- from UAH 472 million in 2016 to UAH 887.5 million ($31.72 milion) in 2017. Measures to reduce the impact on the environment at the enterprise are carried out in accordance with the environmental programs of Kryviy Rih and the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As part of these investments, during 2017 the company completed the construction of new coke oven batteries Nos. 5 and 6, completed the reconstruction of the second unit of its converter shop and modernized the sintering shop No. 2, in which six sinter machines are used.

ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih also stated that in 2017 it also continued to introduce green technologies to reduce the use of traditional energy sources, including water and natural gas.
