ArcelorMittal Galati to modernize steel melting shop

Global steel giant ArcelorMittal’s Romania-based subsidiary ArcelorMittal Galati has announced that it will modernize its steel melting shop, including the construction of a new basic oxygen furnace (BOF) and the upgrading of the continuous casting machine No. 1, during a temporary stoppage of the plant for a period of four weeks.

According to ArcelorMittal Galati’s statement, the goal of the modernization is to improve the quality of the products and services for the customers and also to strengthen safety conditions at the plant. Investment in the modernization works will amount to approximately €30 million.
